POWER STATION OPERATOR

Lakeway Power provides power to a potash plant on the outskirts of Wiluna and is seeking an experienced Power Station Operator to join our team.

This is a great opportunity to have a real say and impact on the way we operate .

  • Immediate Start
  • FIFO Roster (14 days on, 14 days off with some flexibility required)

Position Summary:

Your primary job will be to maintain the day-to-day operations of our remote site with duties that will include:

  • Power station operations (Cummins HSK78 gas and Cummins diesel generators)
  • Routine and breakdown maintenance of power generation and auxiliary equipment
  • Provide detailed reports during routine maintenance tasks and unplanned maintenance events
  • Managing and adhering to OHSE policies and procedures and maintaining the site to ensure it is clean and tidy
  • After hour call outs to attend the power station for faults / breakdowns
  • Analysis of power generation equipment/systems and associated auxiliary equipment.
  • Maintain accurate running hour reports, energy readings as required.
  • Attend the power station after hours while on site for faults/breakdowns.
  • Raise and maintain work order and purchase requests.
  • Ensure optimum stock levels of spares and consumables for the site requirements.

About You

  • WA Electrical Licence essential
  • HV ticket
  • Unsupervised gas ticket
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Track record in operating and/or repairing Gas / Diesel generators.
  • The ability to interpret all relative drawings and procedures.
  • Preferably have previous working experience as an operator
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (Office 365) are required
  • Current First Aid / CPR certificate
  • Current WA Drivers Licence
  • White Card
  • Current Police Clearance (within 6 months of issue date) or be able to obtain one.
  • Be able to pass a full comprehensive pre-employment medical and drug test.
