As a Tier 2 Community Housing Provider, YWCA National Housing and YWCA Housing, subsidiaries of YWCA Australia, build and operate social and affordable housing for women and gender-diverse people. Each year, they provide over 130,000 nights of safe, secure, and affordable accommodation to women, gender-diverse individuals, and their families across Australia. They currently own or manage more than 460 social and affordable homes and are rapidly expanding.
About the role:
As National Asset Manager, you will lead the strategic and operational performance of YWCA's housing portfolio. This includes developing a refreshed Strategic Asset Management Plan, overseeing capital works and maintenance programs, and ensuring compliance with sector-specific regulatory obligations. Reporting to The General Manager of Property, the role is pivotal in shaping property outcomes across multiple states while working closely with internal teams and external delivery partners.
A fundamental component of the role will be the close working relationships developed with stakeholders throughout YWCA and ensuring that all asset management decisions help enhance the lives of their residents.
Key responsibilities:
- Deliver and implement a refreshed Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) aligned with YWCA's systems and goals
- Ensure compliance with housing regulations across VIC, QLD, and NT
- Lead capital works planning, lifecycle forecasting, and refurbishment delivery
- Provide technical input into the design and handover of new developments, including the DLP period
- Manage the delivery of maintenance services through external contractors
- Oversee the mobilisation and continued improvement of the asset management software technology

Ideal candidate:
- Experience in asset, facilities & project management, ideally within the housing sector
- Strong working knowledge of property compliance and maintenance frameworks
- Skilled in capital works budgeting, lifecycle forecasting, and asset software systems
- Ability to work strategically while managing day-to-day operations
- People-first leadership style with strong stakeholder engagement capability
- Trade, engineering, or construction background highly regarded
