
Team Leader – Disability Support Worker

We're seeking a compassionate and experienced Team Leader - Disability Support Worker to guide our team in delivering person-centred support to individuals across Gold Coast and Tweed Heads.
About the role
As a Team Leader, you'll balance hands-on support work with leadership and coordination responsibilities. You'll provide front-line guidance to our Support Workers while ensuring that services are delivered to the highest quality, in line with NDIS requirements and Care Compass standards. This role requires some travel between participant homes and community activities. Experience supporting people with psychosocial disability or mental health conditions will be highly regarded.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement client support plans and NDIS programs by providing day-to-day coordination, guidance, and oversight to direct support staff
- Coordinate, supervise, and oversee the provision of quality day-to-day supports and activities, including providing direct support where required
- Provide front-line leadership, including managing staff issues, interpersonal conflicts, performance, and behavioural matters
- Lead and monitor staff performance to ensure services align with organisational guidelines and care practices
- Manage rosters to maintain consistent service delivery, including replacement of shifts as needed
- Ensure accurate documentation, case notes, and organisational records are maintained
- Build strong and collaborative working relationships with peers, staff, families, and stakeholders
Qualifications and experience
- Certificate IV (or higher) in Disability, Community Services, or a related field (Diploma or Degree in a relevant area desirable)
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role within disability or community services
- Demonstrated experience providing direct support to clients, including those with complex needs
- Experience supporting people with mental health conditions and/or psychosocial disability (essential)
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills
- Proven ability to mentor, coach, and support staff in delivering person-centred services
- Knowledge of NDIS Practice Standards and compliance requirements
Requirements
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Working with Children Check (Paid status)
- Current First Aid and CPR certificates (or willingness to obtain)
- QLD C Class Driver Licence with registered and insured vehicle
- Willingness to travel within Brisbane and surrounding areas as required
