Court Support Officer
4 days ago
For Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander candidates only.
Essential to our service is the Court Support Officer role. Across Queensland we have around 50 Court Support Officers including our amazing Field Officers (remote locations) who are the crucial link between our clients and Legal Practitioners.
Join our Ipswich Team:
- Aid clients prepare for Court (Criminal Law support);
- Help with paperwork, legal forms, court documents, data entry;
- Communicate between our Legal Practitioners and our clients;
- Drive our car, sometimes outside of Maroochydore to communities to assist our Legal Practitioners and clients;
- Contribute to our 24/7 after-hours on-call service by roster (which is why you're paid well above the Award; primarily phone services);
About you:
- Being a good role model to community members is an ideal quality, as is an understanding of our clients' rights in seeking justice. See for our Fact Sheets to prepare.
- You need to be a steady driver, and you need to be reliable and resilient. Computer skills are essential.
- We offer a strong opportunity to make a difference for our people entering the criminal justice system. You do not need to be studying law or justice to do a great job here with us.
While you are not required to carry a current Queensland Government Blue Card to work with ATSILS as a Court Support Officer, you are required to have a current National Police Criminal Record check prior to commencing work with our people or accessing any client file, database record or attending Court.
We have six selection criteria in our Position Description (PD) for this role. Please email if you would like a copy of the PD.
ATSILS wishes you every success in the fast-paced recruitment.
(ATSILS claims exemption under the Queensland Anti-Discrimination Act, Sections 25 (Genuine Occupational Requirement) and 104 (Welfare) in the identification of this role for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates).
