Details: The Office of the Conservator of Flora and Fauna is looking for a well organised and friendly person to join the team in the role of Conservation Officer. This position is a busy role that coordinates and collates advice on Development Applications and other land use change requests, on behalf of the Conservator of Flora and Fauna. This role liaises with multiple teams across ACT Government and external stakeholders, to ensure that any impacts of development are assessed and mitigated to ensure positive biodiversity outcomes in line with the Nature Conservation Act 2014.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

  • A current driver's license.

Notes: This is a temporary position available from 12 January 2026 until 30 October 2026 with the possibility of extension up to 12 months.

An order of merit will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill future identical vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

Opportunities for flexible working options could include hybrid working, being a combination of working from home, designated office based and FlexiSpace working locations across the ACT, part-time hours, job-sharing, flexible start and finish times.
