Technical Business Analyst – Guidewire & Data Reporting

A leading enterprise is hiring a Technical Business Analyst to join their high-impact data and reporting team. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong expertise in Guidewire systems, SQL, and data modeling to play a key role in shaping how the organization uses data for smarter, faster decision-making. Rather than focusing on application development, this role is all about unlocking the power of operational reporting—translating complex business needs into clear, actionable data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and data teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to insurance data and operational reporting.
  • Leverage Guidewire (PolicyCenter, BillingCenter, or ClaimCenter) knowledge to extract and understand data structures and relationships.
  • Design and validate data models and mappings to support analytical and operational reporting use cases.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze complex datasets.
  • Work closely with data engineers and BI developers to translate business requirements into scalable reporting solutions.
  • Support data governance, data quality, and metadata documentation efforts.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) and validation of data/report outputs to ensure they meet business expectations.
  • Provide insights and recommendations through effective data analysis and storytelling.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 4+ years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst
  • Proven expertise in Guidewire platforms (especially data structure and schema understanding, not application configuration).
  • Strong SQL skills; ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries.
  • Experience with data modeling, data mapping, and working with relational databases.
  • Solid understanding of insurance operations (P&C preferred) and business processes.
  • Experience delivering or supporting operational and analytical reports, dashboards, and KPIs.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams including business stakeholders, data teams, and technical leads.
  • Excellent analytical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with reporting and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
  • Experience with ETL tools or data integration platforms.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data quality practices.
  • Experience in agile or hybrid project delivery environments.
