
Disability Support Worker

About the Role:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to join our team. In this role, you will provide person-centered support to individuals with disabilities, empowering them to live fulfilling and independent lives. You will work collaboratively with participants, their families, and other support professionals to achieve their goals and enhance their quality of life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist with daily living tasks such as showering, dressing, grooming, toileting, and meal preparation.
- Community Access: Support individuals to participate in community activities, social events, and appointments.
- Skill Development: Encourage and assist with the development of life skills, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, and communication.
- Emotional Support: Provide companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to individuals.
- Household Tasks: Assist with light household duties such as laundry, cleaning, and shopping.
- Medication Support: Administer medication and monitor health conditions as required (with appropriate training and authorization).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of support provided and participant progress.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with families, support coordinators, and other professionals involved in the individual's care.
- Adherence to Policies: Follow all organizational policies and procedures, including those related to safety, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
Essential Criteria:
- Genuine passion for supporting people with disabilities
- Working rights in Australia
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Patient, understanding, and empathetic nature
- Current First Aid and CPR certification ( or be willing to obtain)
- National Police Check ( or be willing to obtain)
- Driver's License-MUST
- NDIS Worker Screening check ( or be willing to obtain)
- Working with Children Check ( or be willing to obtain)

Pay: $38.00 – $92.00 per hour
Licence/Certification:
- Full Driver Licence (Preferred)
- First Aid Certification (Preferred)
