About HomeRepair

HomeRepair is a wholly owned subsidiary of Suncorp Group Ltd (Suncorp), a major general insurer in Australia and New Zealand. Our primary business is to provide residential repair and Make Safe services in Australia for insurance claims made by Suncorp's home insurance customers.

About the role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the Finance team with accurate processing of financial transactions, maintaining accounting records, and assisting with reporting and compliance activities to ensure effective financial management.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Finance Manager, you will:

  • Process timesheets submitted by various timesheet approvers
  • Assist in accurate payroll payment to employees, ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies
  • Prepare employment offers and onboarding of new employees
  • Prepare payroll tax, superannuation and PAYG lodgments
  • Accounts receivables and payable functions
  • Daily bank reconciliations

Skills & experience

  • Australian Degree, majoring in Accounting or equivalent, with the desire to obtain CPA or CA qualifications
  • Experience working within a finance team
  • Financial Services/Insurance Industry is highly desirable
  • Proficient in Microsoft excel (basic formulas, pivot tables and sorting functionality)
  • General SQL functions/ Power Queries is desirable
  • General understanding of Australian payroll laws, Awards and requirements is highly desirable
