Where you'll be working

NSLHD Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect Domestic and Family Violence Service - The position is based at the Community Health Centre on the Royal North Shore Hospital Campus and is expected to travel across the district as needed.

What you'll be doing

The Northern Sydney Local Health District's (NSLHD) Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Service provides an integrated psychosocial, medical and forensic response to adults who have experienced domestic and family violence.  The DFV Service sits within NSLHD's Prevention and Response to Violence Abuse and Neglect (PARVAN) Service. 

The Domestic Violence Clinical Lead provides professional and clinical leadership for the Domestic and Family Violence Service in conjunction with the DFV Manager, while maintaining a clinical load.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

  1. Tertiary qualifications in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and post graduate experience at a minimum of level 2 or above.
  2. Demonstrated extensive post graduate experience in assessment, crisis intervention, client centred advocacy, case management, safety planning and trauma informed counselling interventions to adults who have experienced domestic violence and other forms of violence, abuse and neglect.
  3. Demonstrated ability to apply and share expert knowledge with colleagues and other health professionals to enhance the capacity of the health workforce in providing high quality integrated, trauma informed and violence informed responses to victims / survivors of domestic and family violence.
  4. Demonstrated experience and ability to identify opportunities and innovatively lead the planning, implementation, and evaluation of service delivery incorporating continuous improvement, evidence-based practice and research.
