We pride ourselves in offering unpretentious, high-quality food and drink sourced locally where possible, from some of the Victoria's best producers.

We are now seeking an experienced Front of House Supervisor/Host to be the face of the dining room at Angus & Bon; our New York style steakhouse located in Prahran's' original 19th century post office which has gone from strength to strength and is now one of Melbourne's busiest steakhouses.

What you will be doing:

  • Greet and seat customers, managing reservations and the dining flow
  • Manage walk-in traffic to optimise table turnover and customer satisfaction
  • Address customer concerns, complaints or special requests with professionalism and discretion
  • Maintain a high level of knowledge about the menu and wine list
  • Ensure dining areas are clean, well-presented, and meet all service standards
  • Oversee private dining room customer experiences

What we are looking for:

  • Proven experience as a Maître D' or Host
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
  • Poise, professionalism and discretion skills
  • A strong understanding of fine dining service, wine and etiquette
  • Proficiency in reservation systems (OpenTable, SevenRooms)
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
  • Ability to stand for long periods and to assist with minor lifting or rearranging of dining spaces as needed
