Workfast is seeking multipleMechanical Trades Assistants / Manufacturing Operators for our valued client based in Welshpool, WA.

Our client is a global leader in engineered polymer solutions that seal, damp, and protect critical applications in demanding environments. At their Welshpool facility, they manufacture high-performance products for a range of industries including mining, construction, and infrastructure.

What you get:

  • $ $37.00 Per Hour + Penalties (Based on Exp)
  • Monday - Friday, 5.00am - 1.00pm
  • Extensive Overtime Available 60+ hours per week - good earning potential
  • Temporary to Permanent Opportunity

What you need:

  • Australian Driver's Licence
  • Forklift Licence
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to interpret and work from engineering drawings
  • Welding experience (highly regarded)
  • Familiarity with 5S principles and Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and training skills — both verbal and written, including negotiation
  • Proven lateral thinking, problem-solving, and advanced analytical skills
  • Strong ability to prioritise tasks, manage schedules, and effectively resolve conflicts

What you will be doing:

  • Mark out liners for cutting and operate the bandsaw as required
  • Use bridge saws and brick saws to cut ceramic liners
  • Perform general welding duties, including AR bar and chute repairs
  • Mark and stud liners accurately according to engineering drawings
  • Clean equipment after use and ensure proper shutdown procedures are followed; secure premises after hours
  • Continuously improve systems and processes to drive operational efficiency
  • Maintain all plant and equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with 5S standards
  • Inspect all products in accordance with QA procedures and complete relevant ITPs
  • Ensure efficient production flow and material handling in line with scheduling requirements
  • Follow all processes, procedures, and inspections based on Lean Manufacturing principles, ITPs, and the company's QA system
  • Maintain safe working practices, particularly in manufacturing and processing areas
  • Promptly report any product variances or issues to the appropriate personnel
  • Apply quality, safety, and environmental standards daily in alignment with the company's Integrated Management System (IMS)
