Mildura, Victoria, Australia Relational Minds Full time $80,000 - $120,000 per year

Welcome to Relational Minds

We're a network of private mental health clinics focused on empowering parents to support their children's emotional growth. We believe that helping parents and carers is the key to lasting change for children facing mental health challenges. Our work is guided by the principles of Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, and Empathy (PACE)—values that shape how we treat clients, colleagues, and ourselves.

Alongside our services in Sunbury, Bendigo, and through Telehealth. Our Mildura team reflects our strong commitment to regional communities, ensuring young people and families who often struggle to access support can receive the care they need, close to home.

We welcome applicants from all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, LGBTQI+ communities, and people with disabilities.

About the Role

Relational Minds is seeking a passionate and experienced Mental Health Clinician / Therapist to join our growing Child and Family Mental Health Service in Mildura, VIC. This part-time or full-time role (minimum two day per week) offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of young people and their families. The position is offered as an ongoing contract.

Your role is to guide families through a relational journey—building safety and trust from the first contact, listening deeply to their story, and working together to make sense of what is happening. You will use your clinical expertise to provide assessments and interventions for children with a range of mental health and developmental needs, while supporting parents and carers to strengthen their capacity. Through relationally attuned strategies, you help families move from understanding to action, building confidence and resilience so they feel equipped with the tools they need—knowing we will continue to walk beside them when challenges arise.

  • Provide ongoing guidance and counselling to parents and carers using our relational framework.
  • Collaborate with schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies to create integrated and individualised care plans.
  • Work closely with DFFH, Child Protection, and other statutory services, recognising the unique challenges of supporting vulnerable children and families within these systems.
  • Maintain clear, accurate, and timely documentation in line with clinical, ethical, and legal standards.
  • Participate in supervision, reflective practice, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of our child and adolescent mental health service, ensuring we continue to provide care that is both clinically robust and relationally safe.

  • A passion for working with parents and families

  • A clinician with strong clinical assessment, mental health interventions and case management skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with families and multidisciplinary teams.
  • A commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing learning.
  • Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy or other attachment based therapy training is desirable.

Essential Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in a specific discipline (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Counselling, Early Childhood Development, Mental Health Nurse, or other related profession).
  • Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g., AHPRA, AASW, ACA, PACFA), including Professional indemnity insurance.
