About the role...
Reporting to the GM Finance, you will be responsible for:
- Preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial result reporting.
- Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, promptly ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial data.
- Producing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
- Assisting senior members of the APG Finance team with the annual budgeting process, supporting strategic growth and profitability targets.
- Conducting regular bank reconciliations and promptly investigating variances.
- Supporting reporting obligations to GPC and ensuring compliance with Australian tax regulations (BAS, GST, FBT, etc.).
- Analysing financial performance and providing insights to improve cost control and operational efficiency.
- Assisting and preparing documentation for internal and external audits.
- Participating in special projects, including but not limited to system upgrades, financial modelling, and process improvement initiatives.
- Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline & CA/CPA/CIMA qualified.
- 5 years' experience as an accountant or a similar role.
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting standards and tax obligations.
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems.
- High level of attention to detail, analytical thinking and time management.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively across departments.
- A proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
