About the Role:
As a Desktop Estimator you will be responsible for liaising with all key stakeholders including customers, insurance company representatives, and internal staff to develop the assessment reports and scope of work repair estimates. You will work closely with the team members nationally, and trade contractors to support the delivery of the companies' services within KPI requirements.
What You'll Do:
- Completing insurance assessments for claims of various complexity and size in line with the Insurance company Product Disclosure Statements "PDS".
- Formulate scope of work estimates taking into consideration access, repair methodology and availability of trade services.
- Communicate with customers effectively via phone and other software "VA".
- Engage with all stakeholders effectively to provide accurate information as required.
- Submit professional and accurate documentation.
- Ensure estimated work conforms to legislative and HSEQ criteria.
- Coordinate specialist trade contractors, review reports to provide the correct recommendation in line with the insurer's PDS.
- Co-ordinate Makesafe trades to complete initial Makesafe works to mitigate further loss.
- Review restoration reports to provide the correct recommendation in line with the insurer's PDS.
- Ad hoc tasks as instructed by company needs
- Overtime may be required during major events

Essential Skills and Attributes:
- A trade qualification or relevant degree OR at least 2 years proven previous experience in an estimating role or experience in the construction industry.
- Intention to pursue a career path in the construction industry
- Ability to think laterally and problem solve issues
- Confident in liaising with customers and clients through excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong time management with an ability to coordinate several priorities at any one time with a calm and professional approach
- Positive and pro-active attitude
- Strong work ethic and highly motivated
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Intermediate computer & software understanding (Microsoft Excel / Outlook) Chrome
- Ability to work under pressure and deal with customers
