About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join the growing team at McGuinness Building Pty Ltd as a Carpenter. Based in Port Macquarie, NSW, this full-time role will see you play a key part in the construction and fit-out of high-quality residential properties.
What you'll be doing
- Assisting with the construction and installation of wooden structures, fixtures and fittings
- Reading and interpreting blueprints, sketches and specifications to ensure accurate construction
- Selecting, measuring and cutting wood materials to required sizes and shapes
- Assembling and installing wooden structures such as walls, floors, roofs, door and window frames
- Fitting and fixing cabinetry, joinery and trim to high standards
- Maintaining tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient work
- Collaborating with the wider construction team to deliver projects on time and to specification
What we're looking for
- Formal qualification in carpentry, such as a Certificate III in Carpentry
- Experience in residential construction
- Strong working knowledge of building codes, regulations and safety standards
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and technical specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- A current driver's licence and reliable transport
