The Role
This is more than a management position—it's a chance to shape careers, build confidence, and lead a team that looks to you for guidance and growth. You'll draw on your own merchandising experience to train, mentor, and uplift your team, helping them reach their potential while delivering outstanding results.
Your impact will include:
• Leading with empathy and clarity, building trust and respect across your team
• Coaching merchandisers to understand not just the "how," but the "why" behind their work
• Creating rosters and managing hours with fairness, foresight and budgets in mind
• Ensuring promotional plans are executed with precision and pride
• Collaborating with managers on onboarding, training, and performance development
• Driving store-level sales targets and celebrating wins—big and small
• Supporting the State Merchandising Manager with insights, strategy, and leadership
• Championing safety, wellbeing, and compliance across your area
About You

You bring empathy, resilience, and a deep understanding of what it takes to build a team that thrives.
You're not just managing people—you're mentoring future leaders, setting the tone, and showing what great leadership looks like in action.
You bring
• Proven experience managing a team of 4+ in a retail or merchandising environment
• A strong grasp of the sales process and customer experience
• The ability to coach, inspire, and build genuine relationships
• Calm, solutions-focused thinking in the face of challenges
• Hands-on experience with budgets, rostering, and merchandising operations
• A belief that leadership is earned through action—not just title
• A valid driver's licence and a clean driving record (this is a deal breaker)
• Comfort with travel across your area—supported by a fully maintained company car
• Daily travel across the area is required for this position
• A background in floristry or floral merchandising is highly desirable
• Local knowledge of Wollongong and surrounding areas—essential for navigating roads efficiently and supporting our community presence
