Role Description

This is a part-time position, based in Banksia NSW, for a Men's First Team Assistant Coach. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach and First Team staff to plan and deliver training sessions, support matchday operations, and contribute to performance analysis.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Assisting in the planning and implementation of the club's playing style across training and match preparation.
  • Leading training components
  • Supporting video and data analysis, including coding matches, preparing clips, and assisting with opposition scouting.
  • Mentoring players, guiding individual development plans (IDPs), and helping integrate youth players into senior football pathways.
  • Contributing to tactical decision-making and performance reviews in collaboration with technical, medical, and performance staff.
  • Managing select matchday logistics and ensuring professional team standards are met across all environments.
  • Upholding the club's values, culture, and expectations in all interactions.

The role requires a strong commitment to teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement as part of a multidisciplinary high-performance environment.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Professional or semi-professional experience in senior football coaching, strategic match planning, and performance analysis.
  • Strong ability to mentor and develop players at the senior level.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Proven competence in planning and delivering structured, high-quality training sessions.
  • Understanding of sports science principles, injury prevention, and player load management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of talent identification and football development pathways.
  • Minimum FA/AFC B-Diploma qualification.
  • Ability to align with and promote the club's professional and inclusive community culture.

Desirable:

  • FA/AFC A-Licence or progress toward it.
  • Experience in NPL or similar high-performance environments.
  • Familiarity with platforms such as Hudl, SportsCode, Veo, or equivalent video-analysis tools
  • Experience working within a multidisciplinary team (medical, S&C, psychology).
  • Strong understanding of modern tactical trends and session design methodology.

Additional Requirements

  • Availability for evening training sessions and weekend fixtures.
  • Working With Children Check (WWCC) and relevant safeguarding certifications.
  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel when required.
  • High level of professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
