What You'll be Doing
The position is responsible for leading, guiding and managing the delivery of speech pathology services to adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties in the inpatient setting on the weekends. As a senior clinician the speech pathologist is responsible for overseeing and providing an efficient and effective service through the application of clinical expertise and knowledge in the management of adult patients with adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties They will also contribute to senior departmental duties including clinical supervision, leading of quality improvement activities, participation in service development and other administrative responsibilities as required.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.
The ongoing $830 million redevelopment as part of the Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct is transforming the hospital into a global hub for medical innovation. This redevelopment will expand clinical services, enhance research and teaching facilities, and introduce state-of-the-art equipment and amenities.

- Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which is accredited as eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.
- Advanced clinical knowledge and postgraduate experience and skills in managing adults with acquired swallowing and communication difficulties in a hospital setting, including competency in instrumental assessments (VFSS and/or FEES)
- Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer literacy and time management. Demonstrated experience supervising staff and/or students.
- Demonstrated commitment to EBP and experience implementing EBP into service planning and evaluation of service changes.
- Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
