Health & Physical Education Teacher

St John the Apostle School is a welcoming Catholic community dedicated to fostering the holistic development of every student. We are seeking a passionate and committed Health and Physical Education Teacher to join our staff team.

This is a full-time, permanent position responsible for providing each class with one Health and one Physical Education lesson per week. The successful applicant will also lead the parent-initiated sports program and coordinate school sporting carnivals and events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and developmentally appropriate Health and Physical Education programs.
  • Promote student wellbeing, teamwork, and participation in physical activity.
  • Lead and coordinate the parent-initiated sports program.
  • Organise and manage whole-school sporting events, carnivals and Sports Day
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance student engagement and achievement.
  • Contribute to the Catholic identity and mission of St John the Apostle School.

The successful applicant will:

  • Be a passionate educator who values health, wellbeing, and physical education as integral to student learning.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
  • Hold or be eligible for registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia (TRBSA).
  • Hold current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care (RRHAN-EC) certification.
  • Be supportive of the ethos and values of Catholic Education.
