A.B. Paterson College is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and expert Senior Physics Teacher to inspire and challenge students through high-quality science instruction. This is a full-time, 12-month contract, commencing in Term 1, 2026.

We are looking for an educator who brings subject mastery, professionalism, and enthusiasm to the classroom, and who is committed to fostering a deep understanding and appreciation of Physics in students. Experience teaching Year 11 and 12 Physics is strongly desirable, along with the ability to teach other Senior Science subjects such as Chemistry.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Deliver engaging and rigorous Physics lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and align with the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabus, with a focus on Years 11 and 12.
  2. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, using effective behaviour management strategies that encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a love of science.
  3. Monitor and support student academic progress, providing timely feedback and implementing strategies to enhance understanding, performance, and study skills in Physics and other Senior Science subjects.
  4. Contribute actively to the College's pastoral care and co-curricular programs, supporting students' personal and emotional development through meaningful engagement.
  5. Collaborate with colleagues and engage in professional development, promoting innovation, continuous improvement, and a strong sense of community within the Science faculty and broader College.

What We're Looking For:

  • A qualified and experienced Physics Teacher, ideally with experience teaching Senior Physics and Chemistry (Years 11 and 12)
  • A strong commitment to student wellbeing and academic excellence
  • A collaborative team member who contributes positively to College life
  • Someone who embraces innovation and continuous improvement in teaching practice
  • A strong background and sound knowledge of the Australian Curriculum and QCAA syllabus
  • Up-to-date skills in the use of IT and other digital classroom resources
  • Current CPR and First Aid training, or willingness to obtain
  • Current Teacher Registration is a requirement of this position
