About The Role

A Strategic Consultant unifies service across existing accounts, with a user base that is large, complex and operationally challenging (geographic, product mix or client type). These firms tend to behave in such a way that requires coordinated and consolidated interaction. Due to the operational complexity of these accounts, a Strategic Consultant through a deep specialization in product, industry and account knowledge is required to provide unique insights and tailor consulting solutions to meet the challenging and changing needs of our clients. 

  • Create and executing on a strategy to protect existing ASV
  • Leading and managing projects that increase FactSet's footprint 
  • Driving strategic engagement and deepening the partnership with each firm 
  • Taking a holistic view of an account and connecting it together in service of the client 

The Strategic Consultant role is an extenuation of the Consultant position in by taking on additional responsibility in the form of managing a smaller number of yet more strategic, larger accounts.

What You'll Do:

45% Account Management

  • Develop and execute on firmwide strategy to retain product and workstation ASV as outlined in Strategic Account Plan.

  • Effectively communicates strategy, goal tracking progress, risks and opportunities to ensure Sales & Consulting are fully aligned.

  • Works directly with Consultants to increase knowledge of account specific products, processes, and client workflows.

  • Execute on Strategic projects that improve usage, increase stickiness, or enhance process stability (thus reducing cancel risk).

  • Leverage BI tools to track zero usage and analyze product risks while taking holistic approach to measure intangible risks across the enterprise.

  • Conduct Postmortem and create and document plan of action to minimize potential future occurrences. 

  • Facilitate and increase collaboration across the account team.

  • Conduct regular Service Reviews with key stakeholders and influencers to identify areas for improvement in product and service.

  • Manage interactions with key clients using defensive sales techniques in order to maximize existing sales levels.

  • One person with universal, collective oversight of the account and respective support teams that maintains the organization and communication of the strategic account vision.

20% Project Management

Direct oversight of large project management deliverables with emphasis on quality, timeliness, and communication to ensure deadlines met with full client satisfaction.

  • Primary liaison for managing large scale product implementations, workstation deployments, competitor displacements, or any relevant post-sale deliverables.

  • Optimize support of complex client processes by maintaining / updating comprehensive process documentation and re-engineering legacy workflows.

  • Assist with Professional Service engagements by providing accounts knowledge and expertise.0.

  • Evaluate legacy and heavy support processes and identify ways to make them more efficient, including leveraging the centers of excellence in order to scale support.

  • Point person for project work on trials/proof of concepts within existing user groups; leveraging Support Centers for large scale conversion projects.

20% Business Development (ASV Growth)

Focused effort assisting sales to drive top-line ASV growth by uncovering new opportunities, upselling product, and increasing FactSet stickiness.

  • Partner with Sales to hit yearly ASV Target while increasing FactSet's overall footprint.

  • Effectively position FactSet's technology-driven solutions and bespoke value proposition with client's unique business model.

  • Leveraging FactSet SVP/EVP/ERO Leadership for 'Strategy Day' to educate client stakeholders on product roadmap, investment / acquisition strategy, digital transformation efforts, and enterprise partnership discussions.

  • Uncover opportunities to upsell FactSet products and workflow solutions.

  • Provide intimate knowledge of competitor landscape with an offensive strategy for displacement opportunities and defensive awareness for risk prevention.

15% Subject Matter Expertise

  • Use industry and client knowledge to identify core business goals/mandates, and uncover short & long-term challenges

  • Become intimately familiar with the client's technical infrastructure including any limitations as well as expected infrastructure changes (ex: shift to cloud) and long-term business needs.

  • Acute knowledge of FactSet products, competitors, and investment strategy specific to the firm types you support.

  • Identify personal gaps in knowledge of FactSet's product suite, technology, and digital solutions while seeking training from Talent Development / LinkedIn Learning.

  • Act as an SME for Sales & Consulting by sharing knowledge, leading internal training and development sessions, and making yourself available to help your peers.

  • Agnostic about our product offering and are at the forefront of market trends, anticipating where they are headed, implications for the client, and ways that FactSet can help.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders in the SBUs to understand product strategy, roadmap, new features and enhancements and partner with accounts team to develop and execute on a strategy to implement.

  • Expert level understanding of users, products, technology, competitors, and enterprise solutions in order to best support our key accounts.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Accounting, MIS, Computer Science, or any related field

  • An Australian Citizen/ Australia PR/ New Zealand Citizen.

  • Exceptional performance in a client facing role with a strong track record of leadership and collaboration

  • High level of enthusiasm, positive attitude and competitive nature

  • Maintain confidence and composure in high-pressure situations

  • Proven ability to ask good questions to uncover explicit and implicit needs

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Ability to run effective meetings internally and with clients

  • Proven ability to interact effectively with senior level in the organization and client contacts
