FCC Construction Australia has been selected as the principal Contractor on Queensland's largest ever social and affordable housing project. The Project will be the largest modular building development constructed in Australia to date.
Please note that this role is full-time site-based, requiring you to be present at the Project site located in Woree, Cairns (Woree).
The Role:
We are currently seeking a dedicated to Foreman (with a strong background in building) to manage and coordinate on-site activities of our project, helping to ensure it is completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. This is a key role and will act as the bridge between management and the workforce, assigning tasks, monitoring safety compliance, troubleshooting issues, overseeing resources, and communicating progress to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Management: Enforcing all safety protocols, conducting risk assessments, and ensuring adherence to safe work practices and building legislation.
 - Workforce Supervision: Directing and managing a crew, allocating duties, monitoring attendance, and coordinating tasks to ensure efficiency.
 - Project Planning & Scheduling: Developing and coordinating work schedules, creating daily plans, and allocating resources like manpower and materials.
 - Quality Assurance: Supervising work to ensure it meets project specifications, industry standards, and quality checklists.
 - Resource Management: Overseeing the use and maintenance of tools, equipment, and building materials, and ensuring timely delivery.
 - Communication: Acting as the primary point of contact between the site crew, subcontractors, and higher management.
 - Problem Solving: Resolving conflicts, addressing issues as they arise, and making quick decisions to keep the project moving.
 - Technical Interpretation: Reading and interpreting architectural drawings, blueprints, and project plans to guide the team.
 - Reporting: Generating accurate and timely reports on work progress, productivity, and any issues or delays to site managers.
 - Training & Mentoring: Guiding and training new and less experienced workers to develop their skills.
 
About You:
- Hold a mandatory safety white card to work on any construction site in Australia.
 - Trade Qualification: A strong foundation in a specific trade (e.g., carpentry, electrical).
 - Hands-On Site Experience: Proven experience working on building projects and progressively taking on more responsibility.
 - Valid Driver's license
