Hope Island Queensland Australia GH Properties Full time $120,000 - $180,000 per year

Project Director – Milton High-Rise Development – Join a Growing Development and Construction Company with a Big Vision

GH Properties is a privately owned, Queensland-based development and construction company with over 30 years of experience delivering high-quality projects across the residential, commercial, and tourism sectors. We are a small but fast-growing team of highly capable professionals, proud of our hands-on approach and strong reputation for delivering outstanding results.

We are now seeking a driven and technically astute Project Director to lead the design development and construction delivery of an iconic multi-storey high-rise project located in Milton, Brisbane.

This is not a corporate desk job—it's a rare opportunity for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, enjoys being deeply involved in the detail, and is ready to help shape the future direction of our construction business.

About the Role

The initial focus of the role will be to drive the design, planning, and construction methodology for the Milton project. You will take a lead role in steering consultant teams, establishing buildability strategies, refining construction techniques, and setting the framework for efficient project execution.

As the project transitions into construction, you will assume full Project Director responsibility on site, overseeing delivery, managing project teams and contractors, and ensuring the project meets its design intent, quality standards, program, and financial objectives. This position requires both strategic oversight and practical engagement—you will be equally comfortable leading consultant meetings as you are walking the site, solving problems, and guiding teams through complex technical challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design development, construction methodology, and planning of the Milton high-rise project from inception through to completion.

• Work closely with architects, engineers, and key consultants to ensure design integrity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.

• Oversee procurement strategies, tender evaluations, and contract negotiations.

• Provide strong leadership during the construction phase, managing contractors, consultants, budgets, and timelines.

• Develop and implement innovative construction techniques and value engineering initiatives.

• Drive safety, sustainability, and quality standards across all aspects of project delivery.

• Report to the Director on progress, risks, and commercial performance.

• Contribute to building the future of GH Properties' in-house development and construction capability.

About You

You are a results-driven and hands-on project professional who enjoys being involved at every level of the process. You are technically strong, commercially astute, and ready to play a defining role in a business that is expanding its footprint in the Queensland property market.

You will ideally have:

• Tertiary qualifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field.

• 10+ years' experience in senior project leadership roles, ideally with exposure to high-rise or complex multi-storey developments.

• Proven ability to lead projects from design through delivery, with a focus on buildability and innovation.

• Exceptional stakeholder management and negotiation skills.

• Strong commercial acumen, with experience in budgeting, financial control, and risk management.

• A practical, roll-up-your-sleeves approach to leadership and problem solving.

• A genuine passion for construction and a desire to help shape a growing company's future.

This role is not for the faint-hearted. It demands resilience, initiative, and the willingness to get your hands dirty when needed. In return, you'll be joining a company that values your input, supports your growth, and rewards results.

Why Join GH Properties?

This is an opportunity to work directly with the Director in a close-knit team, driving the delivery of one of Brisbane's most exciting projects while helping to build a business with a bold vision for the future. We offer a competitive executive remuneration package and the chance to make a lasting mark on a company that's growing from the ground up—literally.

If you are ready to take ownership of major projects and thrive in a fast-moving, hands-on environment, we'd love to hear from you. Please submit your application, including a cover letter and resume, to: Ms Ellen Guan, Manging Director. Applications close 31 Octiover 2026.
