Mobile Attendant Care Service (MACS) is a non-profit, charitable organisation that operates in the Brisbane community. We offer 24/7 personalised and flexible support solutions 365 days a year for those with a physical disability.

We are looking to add Support Workers to our team that uphold and represent our core values of providing support that is reliable, flexible and responsive.

We have the following opportunities.

LIFESTYLE ASSISTANCE: Work one on one with our clients to support them at home or in the community. Shifts range from 2-6 hours, during this time you may support people with personal care and hygiene tasks, meal and domestic assistance, getting out and about i.e. going to gym, hydro, shopping, doctors etc. Hours range between 6.30am-6.30pm

MOBILE DROP-IN SUPPORT

  • NORTH BRISBANE

    Morning Shift: Availability 6.00am-2.00pm shift fill possible permanents.

    Night Shift: Availability 9.00pm-6.00am 3 x per fortnight shift fill.

  • SOUTH BRISBANE Night Shift: Availability 10.00pm-6.00am 2 x per fortnight shift fill.

Our flexible drop-in team operates 24/7 to provide anytime support to clients on a planned or call-in basis. Our staff can drop in for just 5 minutes up to 1 hour, giving clients flexibility and peace of mind that someone is always available to respond to their needs.

Your main responsibility will be enhancing the comfort and lifestyle of our clients. A typical shift involves: a lot of driving (vehicle provided), assistance with personal care and hygiene, transfers/hoisting, dressing, medication assistance, re-positioning, wellbeing checks, assistance to eat/drink, and many other small tasks.

These shifts start from our Headquarters in Kedron (North Brisbane) or Eight Mile Plains (South Brisbane).

Qualifications and experience

  • A qualification in community services/disability/individual support is preferable but not essential.

  • Ability to support others with personal care and domestic duties – and be happy for this to be part of your job.

  • Drivers License, and good driver history.

  • NDIS Orientation Module

  • NDIS Worker Screening

  • First Aid / CPR, or willingness to obtain within 1 month of employment.

  • High levels of enthusiasm, initiative and a positive attitude while acting with integrity, honesty and respect.
