Overview

The Opportunity: When was the last time you made a difference in someone\'s life? It takes a special person to be a Home Care Worker and help older members of the community maintain their home and enhance their wellbeing. We are looking for a person with at least 3 months of experience in a similar professional role to join the Silverchain team, working across Bli Bli, Eumundi, Noosaville, Peregian Beach and Tewantin as part of the greater Sunshine Coast North region.

We are looking for people who:

  • Can handle setbacks calmly and move on to the next client, even with delays or a bad day
  • Are comfortable working independently and finding solutions, knowing when to ask for help

In addition, you will need:

  • A valid Australian Driver\'s Licence and your own insured, roadworthy vehicle
  • Certificate III or above in Aged Care or Individual Support or Disability
  • Experience of 3-6 months or more in a similar role, with experience in personal care, manual handling, hoist training and medications
The Role

In the role of Care Worker you will provide home help services such as:

  • General housekeeping and making beds
  • Cleaning, mopping and vacuuming floors
  • Laundry, washing and ironing
  • Meal preparation and grocery shopping

You will also provide personal care services such as:

  • Getting clients out of bed, showered and dressed for the day
  • Assisting clients to take their medications
  • Assisting with mobility and therapy goals
  • Providing complex care for clients with high care needs (e.g., dementia)
  • Providing social and emotional support
  • Transporting clients to lifestyle activities or appointments
  • Supporting family carers to take a break
