About The Role
We're seeking Senior Funding Assessment Officers who have a background in engineering/construction to join our Reconstruction Coordination team and support the delivery of disaster recovery programs across NSW. These roles play a vital part in the accurate, consistent and compliant assessment of funding submissions under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA).

With flexible working arrangements and negotiable office locations across NSW, these roles suit professionals looking for purpose-driven work, wherever they're based.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and conduct detailed assessments of complex DRFA funding submissions and claims, ensuring compliance with technical solutions, eligibility criteria and funding guidelines.

You will also be a confident communicator, able to translate complex information into clear, well-reasoned reports and advice. A strong understanding of infrastructure delivery and disaster recovery funding (especially the DRFA) will be key to your success in this role.
Please note this is NOT a Finance role. This position works within our Reconstruction division and requires candidates to have a background and understanding in engineering or other relevant fields.

- Demonstrated expertise in funding or claims assessment, with experience in managing complex cases and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Strong knowledge of the DRFA and other disaster recovery frameworks, including compliance, funding eligibility, and audit/compliance requirements.
- Proven ability to analyse complex policy and funding challenges, and provide practical, evidence-based advice in high-pressure and dynamic environments.
- Meets the requirements of a Suitably Qualified Professional (SQP) as defined under the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA), with the capability to assess and verify infrastructure damage, scope of works, and value-for-money assessments in line with DRFA eligibility criteria.
