The Organisation
Specialising in designing, manufacturing and integrating advanced material handling and robotic automation systems for industries including food and beverage, logistics, and e-commerce, my client maintains a significant international footprint and delivers end-to-end solutions that combine bespoke hardware with intelligent software controls. As part of that growth, a new opportunity (with limited interstate travel) has been created for a Senior Control Systems Engineer.
You will provide end-to-end leadership of control system design, development, commissioning and testing for assigned projects (typically circa $1-2m value per project). You will support the development of less experienced control systems colleagues and work closely with the management team and provide input into the standardisation and development of processes.
Additionally:

-direct / support and participate in on-site commissioning during new project delivery and on-site support for existing solutions (limited travel per annum)
-support and providing some after sales technical customer support, troubleshooting and remediation
-work with in-house mechanical & electrical engineering teams to ensure strong cross functional integration of solutions.
-ensure that designs meet compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
About you
In addition to your tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering / Mechatronics or equivalent you have min. 5 years' experience in the detailed design and commissioning of control systems for industrial automation application (warehouse automation / intralogistics, parcel sortation, BHS, mining or other conveyored environment). You can demonstrate (essential):

-conscientious and ambitious
Additionally advantageous but not essential:
-experience in robotic palletising/depalletising systems and/or AGV/AMRs
-experience in vision based solutions and/or implementing SCADA systems
-knowledge of OMRON, Schneider, Rockwell, A+B
This role offers the opportunity to lead and mentor staff as part of an ambitious team with a strong and collaborative culture as they enter a period of significant planned growth.
