Control Systems Project Engineer – Site Delivery | Data Centres & FMCG
Melbourne | $120K–$150K + Super | Hybrid Opportunity
- Site-based position with broad exposure across Data Centres, Manufacturing & FMCG
- Oversee project execution, contractors, and commissioning activities
- Join a growing national automation business expanding into Victoria
About the Company
Paragon Talent Solutions is partnering with a leading Australian owned electrical and industrial automation provider delivering turnkey solutions across multiple industries.
Following strong project wins, particularly in data centres, the business is now expanding its Melbourne operations and seeking an experienced Control Systems Project Engineer to take ownership of site-based delivery activities on both greenfield and brownfield projects.
The Role
This is a site delivery–focused role, not a programming or design-heavy position. You'll act as the key interface between engineering, contractors, and clients — ensuring control systems and electrical integration are executed safely, efficiently, and to specification.
You'll coordinate and oversee site-based activities, manage contractors, review control documentation, and drive smooth system integration, testing, and cutovers in live environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee site installation, integration, and commissioning of control and electrical systems on both greenfield and brownfield projects
- Coordinate contractors, vendors, and subcontractors, ensuring safe and compliant delivery
- Develop, review, and execute cutover plans, MOPs (Method of Procedure), and risk assessments for live environment work
- Liaise closely with the builder, end users, and internal engineering teams to ensure alignment between design intent and site execution
- Conduct site inspections, ensure adherence to standards, and drive issue resolution
- Monitor and report on project progress, schedule, and deliverables
- Support the project manager in client communications and technical coordination
About You
You're a technically capable and delivery-focused engineer who thrives on getting projects built and running smoothly. You'll be just as comfortable on site as in meetings with clients and contractors.
You'll bring:
- A degree or diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Computer Systems Engineering
- Experience delivering industrial automation or control system projects in site-based environments
- Strong understanding of PLC/SCADA systems (Rockwell, Schneider, Siemens, or Ignition)
- Demonstrated capability in overseeing contractors, coordinating site works, and managing commissioning
- Familiarity with greenfield/brownfield site activities, cutover planning, and MOP documentation
- Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills
- Experience in data centre environments, or other mission-critical infrastructure, will be highly regarded
The Offer
- $120K–$150K + Super (depending on experience)
- Hybrid work setup – site-based with flexibility for home/office
- Career growth in a rapidly expanding national automation business
- Variety across data centre, manufacturing, and FMCG sectors
