With an enviable international reputation for world class performances and a vital role at the heart of the South Australian community, the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra (ASO) is one of the nation's most exciting and versatile performing arts organisations. Beyond its acclaimed symphonic concerts, the ASO engages audiences through a diverse range of activities including innovative cross-genre collaborations, enriching learning programs and community outreach.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Executive Team, the Head of Marketing will be responsible for identifying and realising the full potential of the Orchestra and its products by the creation and delivery of effective marketing initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

  • enhancing and promoting the ASO's brand within the community;
  • providing representation and advocacy for the ASO, its programs and services;
  • building and maintaining strong relationships with senior stakeholders including the ASO Board and subcommittees;
  • delivering strategic insights and market intelligence to inform executive and board level decisions;
  • leading the development and execution of marketing strategies and multi-year marketing plans;
  • managing customer journey, ticketing, and CRM systems;
  • leading and developing a high performing marketing and customer service team.

Applications are invited from senior marketing professionals experienced in providing commercial and marketing advice, creating integrated campaign and customer strategies and meeting marketing objectives. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong commercial acumen, leadership capabilities, and excellent stakeholder engagement skills, as well as a passion for delivering audience focused experiences. Experience within the arts or premium experience sectors will be well regarded, as will exposure to audience development or community engagement.
