The role
As a Senior ICT Support Officer at TasPorts, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality technical support to users both onsite and remotely across Tasmania. Reporting to the Service Delivery Lead, you'll ensure the smooth operation of the IT Service Desk and contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of TasPorts' ICT systems and procedures. This is a hands-on role requiring a proactive approach to problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, and service excellence.
Key Duties
- Provide expert-level support and advice to end users and technical staff, resolving complex technical issues efficiently.
- Deliver technical support across Microsoft platforms including Windows OS, Microsoft 365, and Intune, aligned with ITIL service delivery standards.
- Manage and triage service requests and incidents via the helpdesk system, ensuring timely resolution and minimal backlog.
- Coordinate hardware repairs and software configuration issues, liaising with vendors and suppliers as needed.
- Analyse system performance and serviceability to ensure solutions meet service level requirements and industry best practices.
- Foster strong relationships with suppliers and vendors, maintaining professionalism in all interactions.
- Support team capability development through documentation, knowledge sharing, and peer coaching.
- Participate in the on-call roster and be available for work outside standard business hours as required.
- Uphold TasPorts' values and contribute to a safe, inclusive, and healthy work environment.
About you
You're a skilled ICT professional with a strong technical foundation and a passion for delivering exceptional support services. You thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy solving problems, and are confident working independently or as part of a collaborative team. Your communication skills allow you to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels, and you're committed to continuous improvement and professional growth.
What you will have
- Proven experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems, Microsoft 365, Intune, and desktop technologies in a corporate setting.
- Solid understanding of ICT principles, current technologies, and platform solutions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to manage workload independently while contributing to team outcomes.
- Relevant IT qualification and minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Eligibility to hold an MSIC and a current driver's licence.
- Desirable: Industry certifications such as Microsoft, ITIL or similar.
