Your New Role

This role sits within the Economics & Research team, supporting Aware Super's investment strategy through economic modelling, research and insights. You'll contribute to the Fund's economic outlook, develop models, and translate macroeconomic trends into actionable ideas that enhance member outcomes. It's a role for someone who thrives on data, curiosity and impact through:

  • Monitoring economic data and developing models that inform the Fund's economic outlook and investment strategy.
  • Conducting thematic research on macroeconomic trends, asset allocation and financial markets.
  • Translating economic insights into actionable ideas that support member outcomes.

    Clearly communicating research and modelling outputs to a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Please note, this role is available in Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne.

Who are you?

  • You have strong economic frameworks, are curious about the world around you, and are excited to help us better understand local and global economies to help support member returns.
  • Background in economics, econometrics, finance or mathematics, with 2-5 years' experience in economic research and forecasting. Financial markets experience looked upon favourably.
  • Skilled in building economic models and using statistical tools and data sources. Must be proficient in R. Familiarity with Python, SQL, and MATLAB highly desirable.
  • Analytical mindset and willing to explore new ideas and perspectives to improve our understanding. Strong attention to detail and a focus on outcomes.
  • Confident communicator, able to engage diverse audiences with clarity and insight.
  • Demonstrates integrity, curiosity and a genuine commitment to improving member outcomes.
  • You are balanced in accepting risk in any decision you face. You are curious to understand risk context and choose to speak up as we simplify, learn and grow.
