An exciting opportunity exists for a Hydrometric Officer in the Water Science and Monitoring Branch. The Hydrometric Officer will assist in the repair of fixed assets, collect water resource data and enter information into applicable departmental information systems. They will be required to setup and operate various test equipment and also be involved in the maintenance of this equipment. The work will include assisting in planning and implementing field programs which will be conducted across the State including in remote areas.

Experience in remote areas and demonstrated experience and operation of heavy vehicles, high risk crane operations and associated equipment is highly desirable.

Contract:

Contract up to the 8 May 2026.

Desirable Qualifications:HR truck license, forklift or high-risk license desirable.

Special Conditions:

  • May be required to participate in fire management and associated duties.
  • May be required to work outside of the normal hours of work including weekends, and public holidays.
  • May be required to undertake intra or interstate travel for extended periods.
  • A current `C' class driver's licence and willingness to drive is essential.
  • Required to be a State Authorised Officer under the Landscapes South Australia Act 2019.
  • This role has been designated as a Position of Trust pursuant to the standards required in the Australian Government Protective Security Policy Framework. By applying for this role you consent to being screened under the process of obtaining a National Police Clearance (NPC), and to the Department requiring you to obtain a National Police Clearance (NPC).

OPS3 $67,589 min - $72,033 max p.a.
