ABOUT THE ROLE
Prace College is seeking an education support worker to work with at-risk 16-19 year olds on a fixed term contract. There are two positions available:
- 12-month fixed term contract
- 6-month fixed term contract
You will be part of a dynamic team passionate about helping students to achieve their goals through education. The role requires a dedicated professional to provide impactful and adaptive classroom support.
Responsibilities and duties will be across two campuses (Mernda and/or Reservoir):
Classroom support
Supervising and Assisting Students
Administration, record-keeping and reporting
Child safety
Prace College is an Independent Specialist School that provides supportive, flexible and inclusive education to meet the needs of at-risk young people, and supports them to re-engage with and participate in learning, community and work activities. We are a not-for-profit organisation.
ABOUT YOU
Qualifications and experience:
- Certificate III in Education Support or similar
- Minimum 1 year experience in an education support role with students aged 16-19
- An understanding of trauma informed practice

Selection Criteria:
- Certificate III in School Based Education Support or equivalent.
- Capacity to undertake education support tasks across a range of functions within a school environment and the capacity to provide support and to students.
- Demonstrated capacity to be an effective team member and to work cooperatively with a range of people including teachers, education support staff, coordinators and students.
- Demonstrated proficiency in administrative skills, including the use of office systems, software or technical equipment as relevant to the position.
- An understanding of working with at-risk-young people and/or of trauma informed practice.
FURTHER INFORMATION
As part of Prace's recruitment and selection process, applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment safety screening process. Successful appointment to a position will be subject to, but not limited to, the following checks: National Police Check, Victorian Employee Working with Children Check, current and valid Driver's License.
