You will be responsible for managing day-to-day workshop activities, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality assurance, and customer service, all while maintaining tight control over financial performance and cost efficiency.
You will also maintain strong relationships with fleet management teams, suppliers, and contractors, and collaborate with senior leadership to enhance performance and fleet productivity. With hands-on involvement, you will motivate and guide a diverse team of service advisors, mechanics, and apprentices, fostering a culture of safety, operational excellence, and financial accountability throughout the workshop.
Key areas:

- Maintain communication with fleet management teams, suppliers, and contractors.
- Manage service delivery to meet individual contract requirements.
- Collaborate with leadership teams to enhance performance and improve fleet productivity.
- Promote a culture of safety first.
- Engage with a diverse team, including mechanics and apprentices.
- Motivate and develop the team through hands-on involvement in daily workshop operations.
Are you the one?
Are you a hands-on professional who has built your career from the ground up in a truck fleet workshop? We are seeking someone who truly understands the operations, challenges, and opportunities of a large-scale workshop environment—because you've lived it.
If you have progressed through the ranks in a heavy vehicle workshop and are now managing, or ready to manage, a very large workshop, this is your chance to make a significant impact. Linfox offers a dynamic environment where your practical experience, leadership, and commitment to continuous improvement and quality assurance will be highly valued.
What We're Looking For:
- Extensive experience working within truck fleet workshops, ideally having advanced from technical roles to leadership positions.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop large workshop teams.
- A strong track record of implementing process improvements and upholding the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Readiness to take on the responsibility of managing a very large, complex workshop operation.
You can demonstrate:
- Trade qualifications as a Truck Mechanic specialising in Heavy Commercial Vehicles
- High level of computer literacy, particularly in SAP and MS Office suite.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to mentor, train, and support team development.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- HR/HC Licence and strong mechanical aptitude.
- Professional demeanour with an outcome-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to learning and continuous improvement.
- Reliability and dedication in an essential services industry.
- Strong rapport-building skills with stakeholders.
- Dedication to high standards of safety compliance and customer service.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol testing.
