About the Role

Our Australian team is growing and includes Partners, Principals, and Administrators based in Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide. We work closely with our international offices, collaborating on global mandates and sharing best practices across markets.

This role supports the full executive search process; from client and internal briefings through to candidate identification, outreach, screening, and assessment. It requires effective use of research tools and databases, creativity in sourcing, and the ability to craft compelling outreach and conduct high-quality candidate evaluations.

Success in the role depends on strong process management, proactive communication, and developing sector expertise to build credibility with candidates and clients and contribute to broader business development initiatives.

Role Requirements

Client & Internal Briefing

  • Proactively coordinate and attend all client briefing calls or internal kick-off meetings to ensure a comprehensive and shared understanding of the search scope, position specification(s), target company list, and associated milestones.
  • Serve as a key strategic resource in the development of the focused search strategy and the position specification.
  • Consistently engage with the Partner/Principal to ensure full alignment and become more confident in contributing to client call participation over time.

Candidate Identification

  • Conduct detailed, industry-specific research and executive talent mapping using internal databases, external research tools, and other resources to bring valuable market insights to the team.
  • Capable of building a thorough target list with relevant companies/sectors to unearth potential candidates.
  • Demonstrate creativity in sourcing by utilising innovative methods such as AI tools, advanced sourcing techniques, networking, and leveraging event/awards lists to identify potential candidates and collect market intelligence.

Outreach, Screening & Assessment

  • Draft and deploy compelling outreach messages via email, LinkedIn, and phone calls to elicit interest from prospective and passive candidates.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for candidates, ensuring effective and consistent engagement throughout the search lifecycle.
  • In partnership with the Partner/Principal, take responsibility for sourcing and screening of all candidates for each assigned search, ensuring a consistent application of agreed-upon screening criteria.
  • Conduct in-depth interviews and screening calls, assessing candidate qualifications against the position specifications, and progressing to conducting thorough screenings independently.
  • Produce high-quality, comprehensive candidate assessment notes and materials to prepare the broader search team for subsequent interview stages and client presentation.

Assignment & Database Management

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, adhering to best practices for end-to-end assignment and CRM management.
  • Maintain the accuracy, quality, and integrity of all search information and data.
  • Prepare and maintain status reports, client-ready reports, and other high-quality deliverables, ensuring all milestones are accurately managed and completed on time.
  • Proactively update the project team and manage expectations continually, including preparing clear agendas for client update calls.

Relationship Management

  • Partner effectively across a multitude of internal and external stakeholders, fostering an environment of collaboration, trust, and professionalism.
  • Manage candidate relationships throughout the entire lifecycle of the search, keeping the Consultant/Partner abreast of candidate updates and feedback.
  • Be confident in presenting well-reasoned ideas and recommendations, including challenging the thinking of other team members with self-awareness, humility, and open-mindedness.

Sector Expertise

  • Establish credibility with candidates and clients by actively seeking to understand target industries and sectors and mapping the executive talent landscape.
  • Contribute to the team's business development efforts by systematically gathering and synthesising market intelligence from online sources and candidate conversations.

Skills & Experience

  • Candidates should bring relevant experience gained within a professional setting, with a strong preference for those who have worked across diverse industries.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence senior professionals.
  • The role requires excellent project management skills, encompassing the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently, absorb direction effectively, maintain a strong focus on detail, and perform well against strict timelines.
  • Experience in executive search or recruitment is beneficial but not essential.
  • A genuine interest and passion for the sectors in which we operate will be highly regarded.

Elevate places strong emphasis on professional development and actively supports internal mobility within the regions in which we operate. We welcome candidates from diverse professional backgrounds, and we are open to considering flexible working arrangements.
