About the role

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Prosperosa' in Ipswich, QLD. This is a casual position, providing flexible support to individuals with mental health challenges in the local community. As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will play a vital role in empowering our clients to live independently and improve their quality of life.

What you'll be doing

  • Providing one-on-one support to clients with mental health needs, tailored to their individual requirements
  • Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
  • Facilitating group activities and workshops that promote social interaction, skills development, and mental wellbeing
  • Advocating for client needs and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care
  • Maintaining accurate client records and contributing to the continuous improvement of our service delivery

What we're looking for

  • A genuine passion for supporting individuals with mental health challenges
  • Relevant qualifications in the Community Services or Allied Health fields, such as a Certificate IV in Mental Health or equivalent
  • Experience working in a mental health or community support setting, preferably in a casual or flexible capacity
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with clients
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach, with a commitment to client-centred care
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
