About the role
A key role reporting to the Subsurface Lead is responsible for conducting technical studies and assessment including:
- Provide regular production surveillance for Non-Operated assets
- In depth understanding of operator production trends and conduct detailed technical analysis.
- Be able to interpret operator data to support production forecasting in the short, medium & long term
- Provide detailed technical assessment and assess risks and opportunities within the technical information the operators provide
- Actively find ways to improve current analytical processes either by automation and/or improvement initiatives
- Work closely and collaboratively with operated assets within Origin to identify opportunities for the non-operated assets or bring in key improvements/best practices benefiting APLNG
These activities support current development and operations for the Asset and support the Asset to maximise production and deliver operational cost reductions, while ensuring safety and compliance.

More about the role:
- Production surveillance & forecasting for Non-Operated assets
- Assessment of production optimisation opportunities and gap (forecast v. actual) analysis
- Data management and data analysis
- Engage actively with operated assets to identify gaps & opportunities for Non-Operated assets in downhole technology, production performance, production risk management ( well integrity) etc
- Actively participate in technical committee meetings with both operators
- Contribute actively to non-op production through implementation of Operator Influence plan via collaboration both internally & externally
- Support Reserves forecasts and Origin Core processes
- Support well proposal & assessments from Santos & QGC in a timely manner
What will you bring?

More about you
- Experience in oil and gas industry years industry experience).
- Degree in Petroleum Engineering or similar disciplines with experience required.
- Knowledge of other subsurface disciplines including geology, petrophysics, geophysics etc.
- Knowledge of data analysis tools (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Python) or automation capability to enable smarter data analytics solutions
- Knowledge and experience in analytical or numerical modelling, production forecasting, data science, well testing, pressure transient analysis, statistical and risk analysis, and reserves estimation.
- Knowledge of gas production operations and CSG production system.
- Thorough understanding of coal seam reservoir geology.
- Ability to keep abreast of developments in technology, software literature, and geological techniques.
- Knowledge of interpretation software packages (e.g., Pansystem, Saphire, Harmony).
- Knowledge of modelling software packages (e.g., Eclipse, Intersect, Petrel).
Desirable requirements
- Experience with CSG Operator in Petroleum Engineering
- Awareness of commercial analysis and impacts on oil and gas production.
