We currently have an amazing opportunity for an experienced HR professional to join our highly dedicated team as the HR Operations Manager.

The People & Culture Operations Manager supports the People and Culture Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the People & Culture department. This role acts as the second in charge and a key leader within the People & Culture department, ensuring smooth HR processes and helping implement HR strategies aligned with organisational goals. This role will work hand in hand with – and step in to lead in the absence of - the People & Culture Manager and play a vital role in talent management, employee relations, compliance, and HR administration. With a scheduled maternity absence planned for the next six months, this opportunity could even materialise sooner rather than later

As the People & Culture Operations Manager, you will strive to ensure our department remains up to date with all facets of the organisation and will be responsible for a variety of duties including:

  • Oversee the day-to-day HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, reward and recognition, employee engagement, industrial relations matters, performance management and retention.
  • Assist the People & Culture Manager in planning and executing effective HR strategies, to align with short and long-term company goals, employee satisfaction and development.
  • Assist with identifying, developing and implementing initiatives to align with positive organisational culture, employee engagement, reward and recognition and change initiatives across the business.
  • Manage industrial relations matters, including performance management and addressing concerns and employee conflicts to promote a positive work environment.
  • Managing disciplinary management processes including performance improvement plans, employee investigations and suspensions, termination of employment and probationary meetings.
  • Managing Panthers Group policies, procedures, forms and SOPs to ensure compliance and aligning where required, with relevant legislation and health and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate with payroll to ensure accuracy and timely processing within Panthers Time and Attendance System.
  • Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of employee records and HR documentation.
  • Participate in HR projects, such as organisational development and change management initiatives, Enterprise Agreement re-negotiation and others as required to ensure department efficiencies.
  • Provide coaching and support to Panthers management teams on HR-related issues.
  • Coach and support managers and employees to encourage personal and professional development in others.
  • Assist with Workers Compensation claims, WHS issues and Public Liability Matters during periods of leave.

To be considered for this role, you will possess the following:

  • At least 5 years' experience in a senior HR role within a medium to large organisation, with leadership or supervisory experience, ideally in clubs or hospitality.
  • Solid knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to manage and lead HR projects from commencement to execution.
  • Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Effective leadership skills with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
