Vice President of Operations Overview:

We are looking for a full-time (37.5 hours per week) Vice President of Operations who can support our growing Operations Department. As the Vice President of Operations, you will have a diverse and varied role. You'll collaborate with our global teams to support company initiatives and uncover innovative solutions, while taking a proactive approach to your day-to-day responsibilities.

Responsibilities & Duties:

  • Hold accountability for the overall capability, performance and financial results of APAC operations.
  • Build positive relationships with stakeholders and key contacts to gain mutual trust and to know, understand and anticipate Company needs and challenges.
  • Partner with the Executive Team to gather and interpret Company strategics and proceed to impart and implement business strategy operationally.
  • Lead and manage the Leadership Team to sustain capable and successful department leaders, and high-performing staff teams.
  • Consult with support functions for awareness of positive or negative impacts on business operations.
  • Provide strategic insight and guidance to the COO to maximise the TAG APAC regional mission.
  • Define and guide department policy and communications to meet compliance and best practice guidelines, and adherence to industry standards and rules.
  • Control costs and monitor P&L budgets for assigned divisions, with focus on revenue, overheads and profits. Contribute to the creation of annual Company forecasts and budgets.
  • Drive the development and implementation of effective procedures and workflow processes to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Ensure an effective and quality service is delivered by all departments within positional remit.
  • Collaborate with global counterparts to streamline and align business activities wherever possible.
  • Devise and develop growth plans to strengthen sales and support initiatives for winning new business and retaining and growing client accounts to achieve margin targets.
  • Continually review the travel industry, including suppliers, competitors and market conditions. Identify and react to potential opportunities and tactics, or threats and risks.
  • Participate in beneficial internal and external training, conferences, familiarisations and networking.
  • Expand, adopt and promote TAG policy both internally and externally as necessary.
  • Produce reports or statistical analysis as required.
  • Be a leader, coach and mentor to direct reports to facilitate the proper fulfilment of duties.
  • Give clear direction and focus on job roles and responsibilities and set team and individual targets.
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, cyclical appraisals, and set/review measurable KPIs.
  • Recognise high performers for progression/succession and low performers for development/ performance management.
  • Set training needs and source learning interventions to fill gaps and enhance knowledge and skills.
  • Engage in recruitment and selection as appropriate.
  • Continuously motivate, empower, support and encourage staff to raise employee engagement.
  • Have awareness of any significant staffing matters and act accordingly.
  • Exemplify TAG's reputation for high-quality service levels and always represent TAG with full professionalism
  • Demonstrate a conscientious and constructive attitude and lead by example.
  • Remain comprehensively knowledgeable and an expert in the Travel and Events industries.
  • Liaise with all TAG offices and personnel for intercompany business activities.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education to Degree level or higher in related field
  • In lieu of education – equivalent combination of education and directly related experience
  • Comprehensive working experience of a Travel Management Company (Entertainment, Corporate and Events industry advantageous)
  • Solid and extensive knowledge on the APAC region
  • Proven record of successfully managing multiple senior leaders in a fast-paced environment
  • Management of divisional and regional P&L accounts, budgets and overheads
  • Demonstrated success at positively influencing and improving business operations
