The Manager Systems and Standards
is responsible for supporting Group business units to implement and manage processes and procedures as part of the Group Management System Standard (GMS). Additionally, the role will manage the continuous improvement of the GMS and associated management systems in place across the organisation. The objective of this activity is to ensure that Group-wide business stakeholders, Senior Management, the Group Leadership Team (GLT) and Board have comfort that their businesses are realising the system-wide benefits of the GMS.
This role also has responsibility for advising and facilitating aspects of the GMS, with a key focus on risk and change management (assessments, governance, process development, monitoring, training and strategy), as well as promotion and communication. Influencing and bringing key stakeholders together across the Group to drive excellence, collaboration and continuous improvement in management system processes are critical success factors of the role to improve safety performance.
You'll have –
- 6+ years managing or working with risk frameworks and/or management systems. Tertiary Qualification in Aviation, Management, Management or Quality Systems or a related discipline.
- Diploma Qualification in Business, Safety Management or relevant discipline.
- Understanding of the Australian aviation regulatory environment and safety management systems in an airline or other high risk business.
- Experience in managing cross functional projects which involve multiple and diverse business teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated strong stakeholder focus with the ability to build constructive and effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Effective leadership skills.
- Ability to coach, mentor and motivate.
- Understanding of airline industry and operational environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the capability to interact effectively with senior management through formal and informal networks.
- Strong business acumen with a practical focus.
- Ability to translate ideas and strategies into detailed approaches and plans.
- Ability to manage and prioritise competing tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
- Strong commitment to business improvement and ability to deliver results.
- Highly self-motivated with a strong team spirit.
