What you'll be doing

The GP and Pharmacy Liaison Coordinator will support collaboration, care coordination and the development of

pathways between the Alcohol and Other Drugs service and local GP's and pharmacists. The aim of this position is to

improve care for clients with alcohol and other drugs issues in the community.

Selection Criteria

  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse with at least 5 years full time equivalent registration experience with at least 3 year's fulltime equivalent experience in the speciality field. In addition, the employee must have approved postgraduate nursing qualifications in Alcohol and Other Drugs or current enrolment in or commitment to enrol in an approved postgraduate course within the next 12 months.
  • Demonstrated experience in ensuring integrated care and effective partnerships with GPs, community pharmacists and clients of the Alcohol and Other Drugs Service.
  • High level clinical skills in AOD assessment, withdrawal management, opioid and other pharmacotherapies, psychosocial interventions and treatment.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding in applying research and evidence based practice to the workplace with the ability to apply critical thinking and problem solving skills to models of care and project management outcomes.
  • Demonstrated advanced communication and interpersonal skills with a diverse audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted driver's licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
