We are currently seeking a compassionate, proactive, and capable Team Leader – Volunteer Drivers to help lead and support our team of dedicated volunteer drivers.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone with strong people skills, a commitment to community service, and experience in aged care, disability, or community services.
Full time role: $38.74 base hourly rate.
Rotating fortnightly roster: Week am to 3.30pm. Week am – 5.00pm
About the Role
As a Team Leader – Volunteer Drivers, you'll play a dual role: supporting our volunteer drivers to ensure they are confident, engaged, and equipped to deliver client-centred support, while also working hands-on in transport services. Up to 20% of your time will focus on leadership duties, including mentoring and onboarding new volunteers. The remainder will involve directly providing transport and support services to our clients.
You'll be instrumental in maintaining a positive volunteer experience, client satisfaction, and high service standards – all while championing our values of Integrity, Empathy, Respect, Flexibility, and Excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Mentor and support new volunteer drivers through onboarding and buddy shifts.
Provide ongoing guidance, training, and encouragement to volunteer drivers.
Assist with communication and volunteer engagement activities.
Ensure quality and safety standards are maintained across transport services.
Deliver safe, respectful, and reliable transport to clients, including mobility assistance.
Maintain accurate records and contribute to service area improvement initiatives.
Foster a sense of belonging and appreciation within the volunteer team.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Has experience in aged care, disability, or community support services.
Demonstrates strong leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal skills.
Is passionate about volunteerism and understands its unique dynamics.
Thrives in a busy, people-focused environment.
Holds a current driver's licence and is physically capable of assisting clients.
Is confident using computers and basic digital tools.
Experience working with volunteers will be highly regarded
Certificate III/IV in Aged Care, Disability, Individual Support, or Community Services (or equivalent experience)
Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain)
Additional Requirements
National Police Clearance
