**Role**

As the Grounds and Maintenance Leading Hand, you will be supporting the Grounds and Maintenance Manager with the operations of the property, gardening, maintenance, and cleaning. In this role, you will be reporting to the Grounds and Maintenance Manager and be responsible for everything from day-to-day supervision and rostering of Team Leaders and other staff, motivating and inspiring the team, and overseeing gardening, mowing, and property operations, assisting with ongoing Workplace Health & Safety, to ensuring Crystal Castle & Shambhala Gardens stays safe and beautiful.

**Responsibilities**
- Perform and manage a variety of grounds duties, including lawn mowing, gardening, fencing, whipper snipping, and pruning
- Perform and manage a variety of maintenance duties, including mechanical maintenance of machinery and equipment, upkeep of water and septic systems, and basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical activities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Grounds and Maintenance team, supporting them with tasking, prioritisation, projects, and problem solving, with and without the Grounds and Maintenance Manager present
- Take proactive measures to ensure the quality and safety of grounds and maintenance activities
- POC for all grounds and maintenance issues when the Manager is unavailable
- Support with rostering grounds, maintenance, and cleaning teams
- Support with team training on processes and procedures including car parking, watering, maintenance schedules, etc
- Coordinate with contractors and oversee contracted jobs getting completed
- Accurately and professionally complete all job-related paperwork
- Complete weekly off-site town runs for banking, postage, and purchases of whatever is needed
- Complete the opening and closing processes for the Crystal Castle as needed
- Assist with cleaning when required
- Attend in-person meetings and events as needed

- Grounds team is supported, motivated, and clear on their daily actions
- All maintenance checklists are completed in a timely manner
- Opening and closing checklists are completed on time every day
- Grass and lawns stay at or below standard height

**Requirements**:

- 3 years experience in a similar supervisory role
- First aid certificate
- Chainsaw certificate
- Application of chemicals certificate
- OHS white card/WHS experience
- Knowledge of building, carpentry, mechanics, and machinery
- Construction experience preferred
- Experience in Google Suite preferred
- IT experience (computers, networking, CCTV) highly desirable

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
