Whs Advisor

Our partner one of the largest essential service providers in Australia and New Zealand specialising in long term operation, maintenance and management of critical assets and infrastructure are looking for a Senior WHS Adviser to join their team on a permanent basis.

Partnering with the project leadership team, this role is responsible for the implementation, monitoring and governance of Group and Sector SHEQ programs, systems and processes into projects whist driving consistency in line with business and client requirements. This role is the key interface between the Sector SHEQ Manager and operational delivery.

**The role involves**
- Implement Health & Safety objectives aligned to the Sector SHEQ strategy at the site or location level
- Contribute to the development and execution of broader company strategies, initiatives, programs and leading Health & Safety practices
- Delivery of programs across the site or location to ensure all project requirements are addressed SHEQ Operational Support
- Implementation of Health & Safety management plans, emergency response and business continuity planning
- Provide expert advice and practical solutions & delivery of health & safety communications with key legislative and organization updates as required.
- Inspect and evaluate workplace environments, equipment and practices, in order to ensure compliance with the company's Health & Safety Management System, legislative and other requirements
- Support operations to perform Contractor Health & Safety evaluations coordinate Leader and employee onboarding and inductions
- Lead and manage ICAM and Serious incident investigations and drive learnings into the site and wider business if required
- Implementation of unified SHEQ management system
- Drive continuous improvement and develop and share outcomes and learnings with team
- Facilitate and support effective return to work and injury management
- Ensure project readiness for external audits, undertaking internal audits and action tracking to ensure compliance with company requirements, and certifications/accreditations are maintained

**About you**:

- 3+ years in similar industry, services or construction organisation
- Sound communication skills including high level of literacy and numeracy including identifying project members requiring additional comprehension assistance
- Contracting knowledge and experience
- Incident causation methodology
- Operational experience in high risk environments (where relevant)
- Diploma in safety, science, engineering or related discipline

**Salary**: $120,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
