This organisation has grown to become one of the largest in their industry and one of the most respected in their field. Their industrial activities include processing, recycling and logistics throughout Australia.

**About the position**
This role will be responsible for driving excellence in environment risk management strategies, while engaging with stakeholders across the business to define, execute and measure the success of key initiatives across a number of sites across QLD.

This is broad role, encompassing responsibilities will include but not limited to:

- Work with key stakeholders to develop and implement improvement initiatives and technical programs of work
- Manage day to day environmental obligations and management system requirements to ensure compliance with Company expectations and policies, regulatory and other obligations such as licences, permits, development consents
- Manage environmental aspects of business development, research, capital works and technical projects relating to the improvement of existing business operations
- Engage with the environmental regulators to ensure strong working relationships
- Management of external and internal reporting requirements
- Support, coach, mentor and develop line management and site based knowledge to drive ownership for Environment risk management
- Prepare and deliver reports and presentations as required

You enjoy getting out on site and are proactive in your approach to supporting the business as you collaborate to understand their challenges, both current and future, and take accountability for helping people in understanding their responsibilities in relation to the environment.

You will win this role with your:

- Relevant (ideally Environmental Sciences or similar) tertiary qualification and post graduate studies
- Ability to be action oriented and proactive
- Exposure to high risk sites
- Strong communication, influencing and relationship building skills
- The ability to lead change and a small technical team
- Ability to work autonomously
