- The Department of Justice and Community Safety is now recruiting a new frontline team that will carry out monitoring, inspections and investigations to ensure Victorian tobacco stores are complying with the law.
**What you will do**
- As a licensing compliance and enforcement officer, you will:
- ** Monitor, inspect** and **investigate** premises to ensure compliance with the Tobacco Act 1987.
- ** Work in teams** when exercising legislative powers, including exercising search warrants.
- ** Prepare reports**, briefs of evidence and other documents to support investigations and potential court action.
**About you**
- You must have a current Victorian driver's licence. Qualifications in law, investigations or compliance are desirable, but relevant experience will also be considered.
**You should also have**:
- Great **negotiation skills** to gain cooperation from people.
- The ability to **work well in teams** supporting and backing each other in the field.
- Experience in regulatory or compliance work, with the **awareness to spot issues** and follow through with appropriate action, while adhering to health and safety guidelines.
