**About the Role**

As our Manager of Engineering Services, you'll be the driving force behind our technical excellence. You'll lead a team of talented engineers, overseeing projects and strategies, optimising processes, and ensuring the seamless delivery of engineering solutions.

Key Objectives:

- Plan, lead and manage the efficient and effective delivery of engineering services
- Effectively manage, strongly advocate for and represent Council’s interests in regard to the redevelopment and revitalisation projects within the municipality
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory requirements
- Engage with all stakeholders including government, developers, property owners and other authorities to maintain strong, constructive and beneficial relationships to achieve agreed outcomes

This position is a fixed five-year contract, with an attractive remuneration package including full private use of a vehicle.

**About you**

To be successful in the role you will have the following skills and attributes:
Knowledge and skills:

- Extensive knowledge of transportation, civil engineering design and construction, facilities management and asset lifecycle management
- Demonstrated and extensive experience in project management and contract management;
- Demonstrated ability to prepare, implement and effectively manage an operating budget;
- Extensive experience in relationship building and client management;
- Demonstrated ability to manage change processes;
- Highly developed relevant analytical, problem solving, negotiation, technical and managerial skills;
- Strong commitment to delivery, customer service and operational efficiency;
- Strong financial skills and ability to establish and achieve performance targets;
- Strong strategic and conceptual skills;
- Excellent understanding of legal requirements, Acts and Regulations associated with the areas of responsibility; and
- Ability to prepare high quality correspondence, reports and policies from original ideas and concepts.

Management Skills
- Ability to manage projects from conception to implementation;
- Effectively prioritise and manage risks and progress of initiatives against project plans;
- Setting clear performance expectations, takes timely and appropriate action to manage poor performance and supports career development, and is prepared to have courageous conversations;
- Ability to work effectively as a team member, to facilitate team development and to participate in the effective management of a team;
- Effective time management and goal-setting skills including the ability to set priorities and adhere to strict timelines and pressures in a changing environment; and
- Well-developed skills in management of staff.
