**Client & Job**:
Innovative, sustainable, environmentally friendly solution-led paper packaging company. With over 4000 employees across more than 50 sites, they are looking to expand their design department here in Sydney and employ a Structural Packaging Designer.

The position would suit a versatile and creative Designer, typically a professional with a mechanical engineering AND/OR industrial engineering degree, however experienced Designers from the industry are welcome to apply. The work is a hybrid role involving R&D, paperboard packaging design, 3D CAD design, testing as well as liaising with manufacturing teams to provide end-to-end solutions for your respective clients.

As a business, their unique portfolio includes tailor-made point-of-purchase displays and sustainable packaging solutions for leading food and beverage, beauty and care, media and electronics companies, and many more.

**Responsibilities**:

- A multifaceted position, that would suit a creative Engineer, skilled in Industrial and Product Design.
- Not just a Design role, full R&D, New Product / Industrial Design, Continuous Improvement, Change Management via new methods, 3D CAD design - structural.
- Consulting with external stakeholders occasionally, working closely with sales & marketing teams to establish a project brief.
- Producing innovative and sleek 2d and 3d CAD packaging designs.
- Technical drawings and prototyping packaging die liners using in-house machinery.
- Preparation of printed samples and mock-ups for end users.
- Assist with manufacturing & operations departments, and cross-departmental interaction with 100+ technical professionals.
- Project Management of new and existing business cases.
- Document BOM’s.
- Roll out onsite training to external stakeholders.
- Building cohesion and high-level team performances.

**You**:
Applicants will have 5 years of relevant experience with structural packaging design, R&D, testing, and product development. Advanced skills in 2d and 3d design is essential, as well as a good appreciation of printing and die-cutting finishing processes. You will be creative, dynamic, and passionate about all things sustainable through product design. An excellent opportunity to immerse yourself within a leading organsiastion here in Sydney.

**Salary**:
