**Position Overview**
The Disability Support Worker provides hands-on support to participants, enabling them to live independently and engage actively within the community. This includes personal care, domestic support, social engagement, and community access.
Support Workers are expected to work collaboratively with team members, participants, and families in accordance with Disability to Ability SA’s policies, procedures, and relevant legislation, including the NDIS Practice Standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- **Client Support**_
- Deliver supports as outlined in individual support plans (e.g., in-home care, community participation, employment supports).
- Promote independence, choice, and inclusion.
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and medication where required.
- Provide consistent and person centred support in one-on-one or small group settings.
- Complete daily case notes, incident reports, and communication logs as required.
- **Operational Duties**_
- Collaborate with participants, carers, and stakeholders to support individual goals.
- Assist in the development and review of individualised support and behaviour plans.
- Contribute to case reviews and submit regular reports on participant progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure services align with best practices.
- **Team Collaboration**_
- Actively participate in team meetings, planning, and continuous improvement processes.
- Report risks, incidents, or concerns to the Manager in a timely manner.
- Provide shift coverage and support to team members as needed.
- Attend and complete induction, mandatory training, and development sessions.
- **Work Health & Safety**_
- Follow all WHS policies and procedures including manual handling, medication administration, and infection control.
- Participate in WHS training and report hazards or incidents immediately.
- Operate mobility equipment and transport vehicles safely and responsibly.
- **Technology & Reporting**_
- Use internal systems to record support notes, attendance, and other required documentation.
- Ensure all records meet organisational and legislative standards.

- **Physical Requirements**_
- Regular lifting, bending, kneeling, and physical movement (up to 16kg).
- Capacity for prolonged standing, reaching, and physical support activities.
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and mobility aids
- **Essential Criteria**_
- Driver’s License or Passport and Medicare
- 100 points of ID
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check
- Police Check
- Manual Handling
- Infection Control
- First Aid and CPR
- NDIS Worker Training Modules
- NDIS Code of Conduct
- **Availability**_
Very open availability is required for the job role.
**Job Type**: Casual
Pay: $30.00 - $59.18 per hour
Expected hours: 2 - 20 per week
