**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**JOB TITLE**:Mechanical Engineering Technician

**JOB TYPE**: Permanent Full-time from Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week.

**LOCATION**:Unit 8, 33 Hector Street West, Osborne Park, WA 6017

**SUPERVISOR/MANAGER**:Retief Joubert, Director

**SALARY**: $77,000 + SUPER

**MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Maintenance of Edgebanding and CNC Machines
- Optimisation of functionality of machines to process various pre-finished boards
- Increasing the efficiency of machining processes to increase the number of panels processed per day
- Quality control by inspecting panels produced during machining processes
- Communicate effectively with the drafting team, machining team and assembly team members
- Setup and installation of new CNCs, Edgebanders, Drilling Machines and other wood working machines
- Training other team members to operate and maintain wood working machines
- Estimates material costs and quantities, and machine requirements

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE**:
**Qualifications**:

- Certificate III in Engineering - Mechanical Trade (Machining) or similar

**Experience**:

- Minimum 3 years of experience in operating and maintaining Edgebanding and CNC machinery
- Minimum 1 year experience in Cabinet Making Industry

**Skills**:

- Skilled operation of CNC and edgebanding machinery, including maintenance requirements
- An ability to meet production deadlines and use initiative to help with other tasks on the manufacturing floor
- Good organisational skills and stock control knowledge
- An ability to organise a clean and tidy workspace (as safety is one of your values)
- Ability to effectively teach and train up other machine operators
- Ability to read and interpret job instruction with a strong focus on detail
- Problem-solving skills with a growth mindset
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with team members
- Commitment to smart working, continuous improvement, and personal development and success
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles is favourable.
